The Department of Computer Science was established at our college in the academic year 2010. It began its academic activities with the B.Sc. Computer Science degree programme and three diploma courses: Diploma in Computer Applications (DCA), Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Applications (PGDCA), and Diploma in Data Entry Techniques and Office Automation (DDTOA). These diploma programmes are recognized by the Public Service Commission (PSC) as additional qualifications for various posts.
In 2015, the department expanded its academic offerings by introducing the M.Sc. Computer Science postgraduate programme, further strengthening its academic portfolio.
The primary objective of the department is to provide students with a solid foundation in computer science, enabling them to pursue higher studies in Computer Science and Applications. The curriculum is designed not only to support academic progression but also to equip students with industry-relevant skills, thereby enhancing their employability and preparing them for a successful career in the IT sector and beyond.
