Equal Opportunity Cell (EOC)
The Equal Opportunity Cell (EOC) is committed to fostering a diverse, inclusive, and discrimination-free campus environment. The Cell ensures that all students and staff—irrespective of their caste, creed, religion, gender, disability, or socio-economic background—have equal access to opportunities in education, employment, and personal development.
Objectives of the EOC
- To ensure fair and equal treatment of all members of the institution.
- To promote diversity, inclusivity, and non-discrimination across campus.
- To sensitize students and staff on issues of equity, accessibility, and rights.
- To assist students from marginalized communities (SC/ST/OBC, minorities, persons with disabilities, etc.) in availing institutional support and welfare schemes.
- To monitor and implement guidelines and policies that promote inclusivity.
Target Groups
The EOC works with and for the benefit of:
- Scheduled Castes (SC)
- Scheduled Tribes (ST)
- Other Backward Classes (OBC)
- Minority communities
- Persons with Disabilities (PwDs)
- Women and gender minorities
- Economically weaker sections
Functions of the Equal Opportunity Cell
- Policy Implementation: Ensure effective implementation of equity-related policies and constitutional provisions.
- Awareness Campaigns: Organize workshops, seminars, and sensitization programs on equality and rights.
- Academic & Career Support: Provide counseling, academic support, and career guidance to underrepresented groups.
- Grievance Redressal: Coordinate with other committees to address grievances related to discrimination or bias.
- Collaboration: Work with government bodies and NGOs for scholarships, welfare schemes, and community support programs.
